The Golf Club of New England

The History...

In the fall of 2002, several successful businessmen, with a common passion for the game of golf, came together and began sharing ideas on creating a new local golf course that would encompass the best characteristics and features that they have experienced, along with many additional ideas that they envisioned an elite club could achieve. Quickly, their ideas began to turn into reality as they secured an exquisite plot of prime acreage in the towns of Stratham and Greenland, New Hampshire, large enough and with the right natural splendor to build an 18 hole course of their dreams.

Arnold Palmer and the Arnold Palmer Design Company were enlisted as part of the team. Their expansive expertise was applied throughout the design and implementation process, with the result being what is known today as The Golf Club of New England. A marvelous course that one must experience to realize the full splendor - a golf course like no other in the entire region!

Situated on 450 acres of beautiful farmland, Arnold Palmer truly had a great canvas on which to paint his masterpiece. Inspired by the notion of no housing along the course, you will find much of the natural surroundings undisturbed and inviting. Large wooded areas, old stone walls, fields lined with giant oak trees, and tranquil flowing streams all capture the natural beauty of New England.

Each hole uniquely takes advantage of the natural setting and environment to add breathtaking charm and splendor throughout the entire course. Significant attention to detail goes into every aspect of the maintenance and operation to ensure it remains in absolutely excellent condition.

The club has held many State amateur championships, qualifiers and PGA club pro tournaments. It also hosted the 2012 USGA Junior Amateur National Championship, the only USGA National Championship to be held in the State of New Hampshire.

The club has won many awards, including Best Golf Course in New Hampshire as voted by Golf Digest - 2016.

Today, even though the course has been completed for some time, improvements are continually being performed to enrich the course and facility. The Club is committed to making changes that will add value to the overall golf experience.
