The Golf Club of New England's Vision

In the fall of 1999, several successful businessmen with a common passion for the game of golf, came together and began sharing ideas on creating a new club that would encompass the best characteristics and features, along with many additional ideas which define a great golf experience. The vision was to create a championship golf course that stands out from all the rest. One that is admired, respected, and spectacular in every aspect. A one-of-a-kind golf course that is technically challenging, yet always a true pleasure to play. Quickly, their ideas began to turn into reality as they secured an exquisite plot of prime acreage in the towns of Stratham and Greenland, New Hampshire – large enough and with the right natural splendor to build an 18-hole course of their dreams.

Arnold Palmer, a golf legend with a proven track record of success in designing the best courses in the world, was enlisted as part of the team. His expansive expertise, along with Head Designer Ed Seay, was applied throughout the design and implementation process, with the result being what is known today as The Golf Club of New England - a golf course like no other in the entire region!

The Golf Club of New England turns back the hands of time and allows nature and golf to come together as one. The club is dedicated to a limited number of members who enjoy and respect each other and the game. It is a premiere private golf club where members can escape and play the game they love.

2012 USGA Junior Amateur Championship

The Golf Club of New England was host to the first ever USGA Championship in New Hampshire, the 2012 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. The Junior Amateur is among the most difficult of all USGA championships to win because of two factors: the age limit and the tremendous number of fine young players who enter each year. Only one player, Tiger Woods, has won the Junior Amateur three times, winning in 1991, 1992, and 1993. Jordan Speith, who first won in 2009, became the second player to claim more than one title when he won the 2011 championship.  Only six players have reached the final twice.  The 2012 field consisted of many great players who have had successful careers on the PGA Tour including, Scottie Scheffler, Colin Morikawa, Beau Hossler, Will Zalatoris, Cameron Champ, Nicholas Echavaria, Cameron Young, and Doug Ghim.  However, none of these great players made it to the final match where Andy Bo Shim from Duluth, Georgia defeated Jim Liu in the 36 hole match 4 and 3.
